At Saginaw Valley Church of the Nazarene we believe that children are a vital part of our church family. Powerhouse Kids is our dynamic and engaging children’s ministry, designed to help kids grow in their faith, build meaningful friendships, and discover God’s love in a fun and interactive environment.
Our Mission
Powerhouse Kids exists to teach children about Jesus in a way that is exciting, relevant, and age-appropriate. Our goal is to help each child develop a personal relationship with God, understand biblical truths, and apply them in their everyday lives. We strive to create a welcoming space where kids feel loved, valued, and encouraged in their spiritual journey.
What to Expect
Each Sunday, Powerhouse Kids provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can experience God’s presence through:
- Engaging in Worship: Our Powerhouse Kids stay and worship with their families with the whole church until dismissed for class. Watching older members express their love for God is a great way to model worship for our younger generation.
- Biblical Teaching: Age-appropriate lessons that bring Bible stories and themes to life through storytelling, interactive activities, and hands-on learning. Each lesson provides opportunities for kids to connect, ask questions, and apply God’s Word to their daily lives.
- Fun and Games: A mix of exciting games, crafts, snacks, and activities that reinforce biblical principles in a creative way. Every year, we host VBS, Fall Fest, and other kid-friendly events too!
Who can attend?
Powerhouse Kids is open to children from kindergarten through 5th grade. We have a dedicated classroom and a fantastic team of teachers who do their best to tailor each lesson to your child’s needs.
Safety and Security
We take the safety of your children seriously. All of our volunteers undergo background checks to ensure a secure and loving environment. Our check-in and check-out system provides an added layer of security, giving parents peace of mind while they attend the main service.

Powerhouse Kids meets every Sunday during our regular service times. Whether your child is a first-time visitor or a regular attendee, they will be warmly welcomed and encouraged in their faith journey. We can’t wait to see your little ones grow in God’s love and become strong in their faith!
